Sky Sports TV Stands

Asylum constructed TV stands used at the F1 races, along with a single stand for Sky Sports golf coverage.

The simple golf TV stand was made of an aluminium extrusion frame along with colour print dibond panels. This was designed to split in two and fit in a bespoke flight case.

For F1, the design was more intricate and sculptural. Balancing the 75kg weight of the touch screen TV on the narrow necked shape was a priority. We fabricated well supported chassis using cut steel sheet, which were then carefully welded. These had to fit perfectly within the moulded fibreglass cladding, which was finished smooth by hand and spray painted. The collar was covered in carbon fibre vinyl and had discreet fittings for securing to the frame.
