Louis Vuitton Hypnosis

Client

Louis Vuitton

Asylum Supervisor

Mark Ward

Each of the 8 windows at Louis Vuitton’s New Bond St. store, were installed with an intricate pattern of neon lights, animated for a hypnotic effect.

Winter 2021 marked a return to near normality and the client wanted to capture the public’s attention with a striking scheme. The complex layout of staggered lighting was a design challenge as we had to keep it’s form uncluttered and clean.

It was important that the lights were uninterrupted in their shape with no overly visible split lines and dark spots. So we devised a system of interconnecting channels in light weight materials that could diffuse the light for visual continuity. Every window had to be synchronised together, so a wireless connection using a mesh network allowed them to constantly stay in time.
