We were commissioned to design a futuristic racing helmet fitted with augmented reality technology for a Castrol advert.

A basic motor helmet was used as a basis for the design, which was developed by our in-house digital artists. A multitude of versions were rapidly drawn up for the client so they could explore all the possibilities.

Once this was finalised, we then drew the head extension, vents and goggle details in CAD and 3d printed them to be fitted on the helmet. A painstaking finish made sure that seam lines were not visible and that the helmet looked like is was assembled from large single moulded pieces.
