Burberry Trench Arches

Asylum Supervisor
Mark Ward
Asylum modelled a series of neoclassical arches for Burberry’s flagship store on Regent Street. This special display is part of the trench coat relaunch.
Initial drawings from the client were redesigned to work with standardised materials. A hidden system for securely fastening the steel frames to the floor was also developed so not to spoil the clean lines of the design. Templates of various sections of the frames were made so welding the mild steel accurately was easy.
Due to the restricted access to the store, the variety of arches had to be assembled from smaller modular sections. These were bolted together with ease on the night of install.
