We fabricate a giant 8ft monster costume for a series of live action ads to accompany a CGI campaign launched on the web.
The original design was not practical to fit a person inside and walk safely, so modifications had to be done to the proportions to allow freer movement and a reduction in weight.
Due to the sheer size of the hands, two puppeteers were needed for each arm. One to lift the appendage and the other to control the fingers. A cable system was used where each finger could be independently flexed.
A small LED board was used for each eye, in which a preprogrammed sequence animated the blinking.
