Barclaycard Monkey

Asylum produced the toy monkey costume for this adorable Barclaycard advert.

Our in-house designers sketched and then fabricated a foam maquette to confirm the general shape and proportions of the character before the patterns were cut for the costume base.

A number of changes were made with the face as the design developed over time. In the end, the mouth was constructed to be opened like a hand puppet so more life could be brought to the monkeys performance. Additional post exaggerated some of the mouth positions.
