John Lewis Boats

Client

John Lewis

Asylum Supervisor

Mark Ward

This was an installation for John Lewis in Sloane Square, London. Situated in their soft furnishings department, the 2 metre tall boats were designed to display some of the high quality fabrics sold in-store.

As with most of our projects, we began by pre-viz’ing the model to establish the look and size. The 3D data was then used to CNC the hulls and create the patterns for the sails. Asylum technicians Peter and Kerry assembled the parts and designed the rigging to add a realistic touch to an otherwise stylised concept.
