Asylum was approached by Coach New York to provide a number of installation pieces for their new stores in London and Paris.

Mickey Mouse – Standing at 2 metres tall, we fabricated a flat display of Disney’s most famous cartoon character. Mickey had to be structurally very strong and heavy, in order to free stand without danger of falling over. The base was made from steel box section and MDF panelling, whilst the coloured sections were cutout from an aluminium composite material.

Rexy – A 9ft and 12ft version of Coaches coloured T-Rex skeleton was made for their Paris and London stores. Steel work was embedded in key panels to maintain a strong and stable structure. A mixture of PALite and Aerolam was used for the panels.

Boxing Ring – Coach had purchased Stuart Weitzman in early 2015 and decided to open a dedicated space for the designer’s shoes, next to their flagship store in Regent Street. We were approached with a basic concept of a boxing ring plinth and only 2 weeks to complete it. We drew up plans and designed the close-up details, providing CAD visuals for the client to approve. We used faux-suede, metallic faux leather and gold plated turnbuckles to produce a luxurious effect that matched with the rest of the stores interior.
