Anderson Snail

Asylum was responsible for the special effects in Anderson Consulting’s advert, featuring a snail morphing into a frog to illustrate their slogan “metamorphosis in a world of change”.

Four models were made by Asylum to be composited into the final advert. A snail, a frog and two in-betweens, or “snogs” as they were called. These were sculpted, moulded and cast in foam latex. These were made larger-than-life at over 40cm in length and contained mechanical rigs to add realistic movements to aid the morphing process during post-production.

The frog was also rigged with control rods for the final sequence, where it could be puppeteered to leap out of shot.
