Job Vacancy – Digital Art Department Supervisor

We are seeking a multi-skilled 3D/2D artist to lead our digital department, thinking on their feet, using a variety of software. Applicants must be able to produce 2D artwork for print, CAD drawings for pre-viz and to aid fabricators/suppliers in final construction.

Asylum focuses on special effects and model making for commercials and films, more recently moving into the fields of high end visual merchandising and art installations.

There will be some overtime/overnight work involved with an excellent overtime compensation scheme in place. There will also be the chance of attending photography and filming shoots.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Creating 3d/2d artwork for concept approval with clients, technical aids for fabrication and final print work.
  • Working closely with suppliers and providing relevant drawings and information for production of components.
  • Work closely with management and other departments to put forward proposals to clients.
  • Work at the front of the creative industry, developing effects and products for internationally known names and brands.
  • Work to deadlines to produce solutions.
  • Health & Safety compliance in accordance with company policy with emphasis on PPE requirement.

Required Core Skills:

  • Traditional drawing skills to communicate ideas.
  • Proficient with either Rhino, Fusion 360 or Solidworks.
  • Familiar with the variety of 3D printing processes and materials.
  • Familiar with Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator.
  • Experience in providing professional digital illustrations for print.
  • Ability to work well in a team and act on feedback decisively.
  • Multi-tasking.

Additional Skills:

  • Familiar with basics of social media, to help create engaging content.
  • Motivation to grow the roll and develop specialties to add to the company’s expertise.
  • Drive to learn other disciplines involved in model making.

Job Type:

Starting as soon as possible on a 3 month probation, changing over to a full-time position.
