The Relay Building Train Carriage

Asylum Supervisor

Mark Curtis

We were commissioned to modify a C stock tube carriage for the atrium of the new Relay Building, near Aldgate East.

The space serves as both a waiting area and break out space for the office tenants upstairs, so 3 different seating arrangements were configured. A regular tube car seat section, a tabled area with power points for laptops and finally the two single seats in the driver’s cab, at the front.

In addition to this, Asylum fabricated a reception desk, designed by Acrylicize to reflect the industrial qualities of the materials used by Transport For London.
