Dan Tobin Smith Letter T

The project Alphabetical started several years ago when Creative Review commissioned Dan Tobin Smith to create a ‘Letter A’ for their Annual.

Each Letter has a different approach but uses Helvetica as the base typography. Most are temporary installations, some use landscape and some were conceived as primarily moving image.

Asylum were approached to produce the physical effects for the ‘Letter T’. All the squib explosives were strategically placed around a fabricated frame, wired to explode at the same time as when the programmed cameras took their multiple images. Extensive testing was done at our workshops, using our own high speed camera equipment.
